What would you do if you only had ten months left of your 40s?
I will be turning 50 this December and that's less than ten months away!
I've decided not to freak out about it but embrace it, so thus the question: how to celebrate it?
My husband turned 50 in 2020 so I've had a little experience.
For him, I contacted his friends and we had each friend sign up for a day to send him a letter, gift, video, etc.
We started 50 days before his birthday so we were able to completely surprise him. Then, every day he had something to look forward to. I told him not to do that for me because I'm not sure he could find me 50 friends.
I had another friend turn 50 in 2020 and she chose to celebrate by hiking 50 miles. She then proceeded to have a goal that involved 40, 30, 20 and 10. After brainstorming with my husband we decided to do 5, 50 related goals based on different time frames of the year. So here's my current ways to celebrate:
Hike 50 miles with friends/family this year.
Watch 50 sunrises and sunsets each quarter this year.
Spend 50 intentional hours with friends each month this year. (Coffee dates, meals, walking...)
Take 50 minutes for solitude each week this year.
Do 50 squats, push-ups or leg lifts each day this year.
So if you're local (or in PA - I plan to get there this spring) and want to help me celebrate my 50th this year, reach out for a hike, coffee date, or whatever you'd like to participate with me in accomplishing!
